About film
Murat, 72, has spent his entire life in a small town, which he has never left. For fifty years, he has travelled the same paths with his horse-drawn cart, collecting fallen branches from the forest and turning them into firewood to make a living. Most days of the week, he remains in the forest from first light until darkness falls. Time, for him, does not rush or deviate; it moves in a steady, unchanging rhythm.

By his side are two horses, a mother and her daughter. Murat describes his relationship with them not as ownership, but as a shared existence: “I have become one with them, and they with me.” This bond reveals itself not through words, but through repetition, care, and daily routine.

This short film observes Murat’s slow and unwavering life cycle with minimal intervention, portraying a quiet coexistence between human, animal, and nature, in a world where time seems to stand still.
